Meet donna winterberry

Professor Winterberry started her dental hygiene career in 1987.  She obtained her Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene from Pensacola State College, Bachelors Degree from St. Petersburg College and Masters Degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in 2014. She has served as dental hygiene faculty member at Pensacola State College since 2007 and still practices clinical dental hygiene part-time.  Classes she has taught include Oral Pathology, Pharmacology and Dental Office Emergencies, and Dental Hygiene Lecture and Clinic.  She was inducted to the Academy of Teaching Excellence in 2010.

Professor Winterberry is active in her community and the American Dental Hygiene Association. She is currently the treasurer of her local component, Pensacola Dental Hygiene Association in which she has served as a delegate in both state and national symposiums. She has also served as a clinical director for Special Smiles as part of the Special Olympics Florida.

In fulfilling her lifelong learning goals she returned to school earning an additional degree in nursing and plans on medical and dental mission work during the summers.  She is currently precepting at a pediatric extended care facility that specializes in special needs clients. She is currently serving as the Margaret Moore Nickelsen Endowed Teaching Chair for Health Sciences in which we was nominated by her students and chosen by her peers.  Her experience as a clinician, educator, nursing student offers her students a wealth of resources and opportunity for diverse mentorship. Her love of the dental hygiene profession inspired her to continue her studies in overall health signifies a true passion for helping and teaching young minds.​
